DisposeRx is a new safe product about the size of a ketchup packet, which, when added to leftover medications with water, forms a gel that permanently captures the prescription drugs, which can then be thrown in the household trash.
The Village of Roscoe Police Department has free DisposeRx packets you can pick up and bring home to safely and effectively dispose of unused or expired prescription drugs in your home. Find more information on DisposeRx Incorporated and the DisposeRx product.
The Roscoe Police Department works with the Harlem-Roscoe Fire Department, who provides Chaplain services to the Village of Roscoe. The Chaplain’s purpose is to minister to all who desire their help. They deliver death notices, counsel those in need, and are available to the citizens of Roscoe.
The Roscoe Police Department and the Winnebago County Health Department work together under the Tobacco Enforcement Program. This program provides all tobacco retail establishments with information on what constitutes illegal sales to individuals under 21 years of age. The Roscoe Police Department then conducts three unannounced compliance checks each year with supervised and trained individuals under 21 years of age who attempt to purchase tobacco products from tobacco retail establishments in the Village of Roscoe to assure that tobacco products are not sold. Funding for this program is provided by the Illinois Department of Human Services of Substance Use Prevention and Recovery.
